Real estate market 2022 in Germany's largest cities

The expert committees of Germany's major cities provided insights into actual market activity based on real transaction data as part of the DVW ImmoTalks, an entertaining TALK format of the Working Group Property Valuation, to which Dr. Christina Mauer was appointed for a term of 4 years as of 01.01.2023. Until now, in many places only assumptions could be made on the basis of offer data from the real estate portals - the transaction data now provide facts!

The fact that many are looking for answers in the market is confirmed by the high number of participants, around 600.

• Different developments in the 1st and 2nd halves of 2022
• Significantly lower prices for apartments in the second half of the year
• Decrease in transactions across all submarkets by 25%
• Sideways movement in prices for owner-occupied housing expected in 2023
